Ambrosiana

Sculptural bottles from the Litta Modignani collection

Secret Ambrosiana.
Curiosities from the collections

During its four hundred years of life, the Ambrosiana has welcomed within its collections an amazing variety of volumes, works of art and artifacts from all over the world, telling us a story that spans over 1500 years.

Some of these, normally not on display, are now visible thanks to this exhibition in the showcases of rooms 2 and 3, the second of a series dedicated to showing what is “hidden”, for a wider enhancement of the Institution’s heritage.

Among the precious artifacts displayed there are two sculptural bottles from Peru from the Litta Modignani collection, dating back to the Moche culture, Japanese uchiwa-e fans from the collections of the Lodovico Pogliaghi House Museum and four precious medals by Pisanello from the numismatic collections of the Ambrosiana.

Exhibition included in the ticket for the Pinacoteca.
