To celebrate Mother’s Day, on Sunday May 12 the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana offers free entry to all mothers accompanied by their children!
If you are looking for an original gift for your mother, invite her on the evening of May 12 for a free visit to the Pinacoteca, to discover the great masterpieces of the Renaissance masters, followed by a flute and harp concert in the Sala Federiciana, surrounded by drawings of Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Atlanticus!

MOTHER’S DAY: EVENING VISIT AND CONCERT IN THE FEDERICIANA ROOM

On the evening of May 12, starting from 18.45, we await you for a free evening visit to the Art Gallery, to discover the great masterpieces of the Renaissance masters: Titian, Botticelli, Bramantino, Bergognone, Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci.
At 19.30, take your seat in the Sala Federiciana, surrounded by drawings from the Codex Atlanticus, for a harp and flute concert, with Anna Grazia Anzelmo and Elena Spotti.

MOLESKINE DETOUR

From April 15, on the occasion of Design Week, the rooms of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana will host “Moleskine Detour”, an international exhibition promoted by Moleskine and the Moleskine Foundation. Created in 2006, Detour is much more than a simple art exhibition: it is an experience that transports the visitor to the heart of the creative process, from the artist’s mind to the page of the notebook.

The most magical and ancient places of Milan: the ancient Forum where Constantine, St. Ambrose, St. Augustine and Theodosius walked, and the lower Church of Santo Sepolcro, built by the Crusaders… as well as a colossal statue of St. Charles Borromeo on Lake Maggiore; a Museum-Home at the Sacro Monte of Varese; a Foundation dedicated to the promotion of young artists: this is also the Ambrosiana!

Between 1990 and 1992, archaeological excavations conducted underneath the ancient cellars of the Ambrosiana brought to light a portion of the pavement of the ancient Roman forum, the heart of Mediolanum's political, economic and religious life.

The church of San Sepolcro was founded in 1030, when a Milanese moneyer named Rozzone built a church on the ancient Roman forum. Archbishop Ariberto d’Intimiano solemnly consecrated it to the Holy Trinity.
