Accademia
ENVISIONING AND REPRESENTING AFRICA
On 10 and 11 February, the VI Dies Academicus of the Class of African Studies will be held in the Sala delle Accademie of the Biblioteca Ambrosiana
A group of people interested in geometry surrpunds the character who is drawing a figure with a compass; he is identified with Euclid, the philosopher who systematized classical geometry and provided the foundations of geometric science with the Elements. According to Vasari, this philosopher is depicted with the features of Donato Bramante.
The figures around Euclid are not identifiable with ancient philosophers.
