DON FERRANTE'S BOOKS IN THE BIBLIOTECA AMBROSIANA
An exhibition that aims at reconstructing the "considerable collection of books” belonging to Don Ferrante, which Alessandro Manzoni describes in the Promessi Sposi (The Bethroted).
During its four hundred years of life, Ambrosiana has welcomed within its collections an amazing variety of volumes, works of art and artifacts from all over the world, capable of telling us a story that spans over 1500 years.
Some of these, normally not exposed to the public, are now visible thanks to this exhibition set up in the showcases of rooms 2 and 3, the first of a series dedicated to showing what is “hidden”, for a wider enhancement of the Institution’s heritage.
